1st: LeBron James and Anthony Davis

What do you get when you have two MVP calibre players, one a 4-time MVP of the league, the other a perennial top 5 MVP candidate and a perennial defensive player of the year candidate?

The best duo in the NBA.

There was so much mud thrown at LeBron James and Anthony Davis before the start of the NBA season. Most notably by ESPN’s Jackie MacMullan and Brian Windhorst

Skip forward to present day and LeBron James and Anthony Davis are making any and all doubters eat there words.

For LeBron James. The revenge season was in full effect.

The “Washed King” proved to everyone that the King ain’t dead.

Destroying teams all season, showing that he alongside Giannis, are the premier players in the NBA.

LeBron at 35 is doing things that are unheard of for his age.

Still capable of jumping out of the gym, still capable of dominating whenever he chooses, still capable of being an elite defender when he locks in and he is still the most unstoppable force that the NBA has seen since Michael Jordan.

LeBron James has made a career of defying even the highest expectations and this season was no different. An MVP calibre season regardless of whether he wins the award or not.

With LeBron James playing at such a high level, you might think that Anthony Davis has been forced into the Robin to LeBron’s Batman role.

Hell no.

If LeBron is Batman, Anthony Davis has been Superman.

Anthony Davis coming to the Los Angeles Lakers was a bitter sweet moment for many a Laker fan.

Yes we land an All-NBA performer in Anthony Davis, but it comes at the expense of losing our beloved young core members Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and a bunch of picks including the 4th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Expectations were sky high for AD.

Anthony Davis like LeBron, has blown the expectations out of the water.

We all knew that Anthony Davis was an elite defender but Davis has shown Lakersnation that he might not only be the best defensive big in the NBA but a player who is capable even at 6″11 to guard all 5 positions.

That is insane for a person of his height, weight and length.

We expected Davis to be a beast on the defensive side of the ball, his offense has also blown Lakers fans hair back.

A 3-Tier scorer, Davis has improved his 3-point stroke and now looks a legit threat from outside.

He is elite from the FT Line and is money in the post and from mid-range.

Anthony Davis, if he does sign long term with the Lakers will secure a long and successful future for the purple and gold moving forward.

Having 2 of the top 5 players in the league on one team is an embarrassment of riches, one which the Los Angeles Lakers are glad to have.

At there best, Anthony Davis and LeBron James are unstoppable and put even great teams to the sword and lets just say for the vast majority of the season, they have both been at 80% of there best which is scary for teams to think that they could potentially get even better.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis, right now are unquestionably the best duo in the NBA. Winning a championship together this past season has definitely proven that.
