3rd: Kevin Durant & Kyrie Irving

There are so many more proven duo’s worthy of inclusion in this list who have a history of playing together:

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson

Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton

James Harden and Russell Westbrook

Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid

While the above players have a history of playing and winning game together, the unknown factor and the astronomical level of talent held by Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving gives them the slight edge of some of the proven duo’s in the league.

If Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant were both healthy this season, the outlook of the Eastern Conference would potentially be vastly different then it current is now.

Instead of talking about the Milwaukee Bucks, the Boston Celtics, The Miami Heat or the Toronto Raptors, eyes would be firmly fixed on the Brooklyn Nets out East.

Such is the vast talent of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving that there mere presence in the East makes them favourites.

You only need to look at the body of work from both players to see why it would be an uphill battle for anyone in the East or Western conference.

Kevin Durant, arguably the most gifted offensive player in NBA history. Never has there been a player of his size, length and shooting ability all rolled into one.

He has the frame of George Gervin, the length of Kevin Garnett, and the shooting stroke of Steph Curry. All in all, KD is like Frankenstein’s monster. He is a wonderful mixture of length and shooting.

When healthy, Kevin Durant is virtually unstoppable offensively. His offensive repertoire is something to Marvel. He can beat you absolutely anywhere on the floor and his jumpshot, due to his length and wingspan is almost impossible to block.

There are few players in NBA history who can explode for 30+ points in no time at all like Kevin Durant.

Then you have Kyrie Irving.

One of the most naturally gifted point guards in recent history.

Kyrie has the perfect mix of scoring and playmaking that make him a nightmare on a nightly basis for any team to deal with.

Kyrie’s dazzling handles and no look passes leave fans and fellow players in awe.

Capable of annihilating a double team with his handles, Kyrie is equally adept at scoring in the paint as he is from the mid range and 3-point line.

Kyrie and KD have the potential to be an incredible pairing due to their individual talent.

It will be a real challenge for them to find a common ground with give and take.

If they find that, they will be one of the most dangerous duo’s in recent NBA history.
