Is the End of This Season to Be LeBron James’ Last Dance?

This year, age 35, he has shown growth in his game and made those around him better with a league-leading 10.6 assists per game. While also posting 25.7 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. His sustained elite showing over a significant period of time proves he can maintain health and form into the next few years and show us what MJ, Kareem, and Mamba did in their supposed twilight years.

King James is not finished yet.

Once the NBA season resumes in Florida at the end of July, in these the strangest of days for us all, few things are certain.

What we can be assured of though is this: LeBron James and the Lakers will do all in their power to pick up their Western Conference-leading form from before the break-in play and run with it. Perhaps to a 17th title that ties the franchise up with bitter long-time rivals the Boston Celtics.

Such a feat would pave the way for Anthony Davis & Co. to re-sign to stand by James once more next season, and do it all again. If he continues to lead the way in assists and make them all better players, there is no telling how good they can be once more.

King James has shown his ability to consistently defy conventional sporting wisdom and break new grounds of achievement, standing as the equal of the very best who have played the game. His pledge at the first game following Kobe Bryant’s passing to ‘continue the legacy’ shows he understands the significance of securing a meaningful Lakers legacy for himself and in doing so, returning the franchise to its rightful place at the top of the NBA.

Is this his last dance? With so much achieved, but so much more to do, one has to say no and not for a while yet. Long live the king.
