It was confirmed earlier today by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, after the Lakers’ 107-100 victory over the Chicago Bulls, that LeBron James will not be joining the team on their upcoming road trip to Oklahoma and Houston. However, James has not been ruled out of the Lakers’ home game against Golden State on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Tues, 3.30am UK Time).

The Lakers have gone 4-7 since James suffered an injury in the Christmas Day rout of Golden State. Now, the team hit a brutal stretch of games where they play the Western Conference powerhouses, the Thunder, Rockets, and Warriors in the space of just five days.

The schedule does not get any easier, as the teams that the Lakers face
in the following two-and-a-half weeks, includes the 76ers (twice), Clippers, Warriors (again), Pacers, and Celtics. With the majority of the games in the month of February being on the road.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, James will have his groin injury re-evaluated in Los Angeles on Wednesday. This will mark three-weeks since James suffered the injury.
